Hunter Museum of American Art

The Hunter Museum sits on an 80-foot bluff above the Tennessee River in the Bluff View Art District, and its rental spaces trade on that position. The River Terrace is the largest at 8,000 square feet, seating 450 or holding 800 standing, with views across the water to the North Shore and the Walnut Street Bridge. Indoors, the modern Lobby seats 200 or takes 350 for a reception, and a 150-person Auditorium handles presentations. Two smaller terraces — the 24 Hour Terrace and Paley Terrace — work for cocktail hours of 100 to 250. Base rental rates run from $1,500 for the smaller rooms to $10,000 for the River Terrace.

There is no in-house catering; clients book from a list of 13 approved caterers, which gives some control over food budgets. Booking starts with an online rental application. The Hunter is best for wedding receptions, fundraisers, and corporate events that want river views and museum galleries as the backdrop.
