The Historic - A Southside Venue

The Historic, known until 2023 as Church on Main, occupies a building over a hundred years old on Rossville Avenue in the Southside. The main hall offers roughly 4,800 square feet of original hardwood floors, exposed brick, and timber beams, seating up to 200 for a dinner or ceremony-plus-reception, or holding 250 for a cocktail-style event. Smaller wings and corridors off the main room give cocktail hours and lounge seating somewhere to spread out. Downstairs, a basement space called Temperance runs as a speakeasy-style room for around 60 guests, used for rehearsal dinners and smaller parties.

The venue books weddings as its core business, including micro weddings, but also takes corporate events and nonprofit gatherings. The brick-and-beam interior photographs well without much added decor, which keeps styling budgets down. The Historic is best for weddings and rehearsal dinners that want period character in the Southside without hotel formality.
