Science Center of Iowa

The Science Center of Iowa rents its downtown building for private events after the exhibit floor closes to the public. Spaces range from small classrooms seating up to 50 to large halls seating 300, with tables and chairs available for groups up to 400. The events team runs three core formats — birthday parties, meetings and receptions, and weddings — and takes custom requests by email. Full-service catering comes from a preferred caterers list rather than in-house kitchens.

What separates it from a standard banquet space are the add-ons: live science demonstrations, team-building activities, audiovisual support, and hosted parking can be layered onto any booking. The location at 401 W Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway puts it within walking distance of downtown hotels.
