About This Venue
Mabry-Hazen House is an 1850s residence on a hilltop along Dandridge Avenue, about a mile east of downtown Knoxville, operated as a museum by the Hazen Historical Museum Foundation. The house held three generations of the same family and is furnished with their original belongings, decorated in the styles of several decades of occupancy. The grounds include a lawn with views back toward the city, a veranda, and the Julia Meek Guest House.
For private events, the foundation offers wedding packages, rents the guest house and a meeting room, and permits photography sessions on the property. As a nonprofit house museum, its rental rates run lower than purpose-built venues, and events directly support the site's preservation. The museum operates March through December with weekday tours and limited Saturday hours, and by appointment in winter. It is best for intimate outdoor weddings, small anniversary and birthday gatherings, and meetings that suit a Victorian house-and-lawn setting on a modest budget.
