About This Venue
The Seelbach Hilton, opened in 1905, is a Beaux-Arts landmark on South Fourth Street and a member of Historic Hotels of America. Its 4,900-square-foot Grand Ballroom features marble wall accents, crystal chandeliers and a fireplace, seating up to 400 guests banquet-style and as many as 550 standing for receptions. The hotel's most distinctive room is the Rathskeller, a 4,200-square-foot subterranean space built in 1907 entirely of Rookwood Pottery tile, with an arched terra-cotta ceiling; it holds up to 240 seated or roughly 300 standing.
Catering is handled in-house by the hotel. The Gatsby-era glamour of the Grand Ballroom suits formal weddings and galas, while the historic Rathskeller is a popular pick for rehearsal dinners, cocktail receptions and themed corporate events. The venue is located downtown at 500 South Fourth Street; the events team can be reached at (502) 585-3200.
