Memorial Union

Memorial Union is the University of Wisconsin's landmark lakefront union building on Langdon Street, and its two signature rooms are bookable for private events through Campus Event Services. The Great Hall, a historic ballroom restored to its original finishes with modern sound and visual systems, seats up to 220 at round tables or 300 at banquet rows; Tripp Commons holds receptions of up to 170 and opens directly onto an outdoor patio above Lake Mendota and the Terrace. In-house catering, audio-visual rental, and event coordination are handled by the union's professional staff, with quarterly wedding tastings.

Booking requires a current Wisconsin Union membership, with dates reservable up to 18 months out and a $2,000 initial payment to secure a date. The lakefront setting and collegiate Gothic architecture carry the room. It is best suited to weddings, anniversary celebrations, graduation dinners, and alumni events with a UW connection.
