About This Venue

The Old Governor’s Mansion is a Georgian-style residence built in 1930 under the direction of Governor Huey Long and now operated as a museum and event venue by the Foundation for Historical Louisiana. The mansion’s stately rooms, grand staircase, and manicured gardens carry a sense of Louisiana political history that adds depth and character to any celebration.

The main floor rooms and rear garden accommodate up to 100 seated guests for intimate weddings, anniversary dinners, corporate receptions, and cultural events. The mansion’s period furnishings and architectural details mean minimal decorating is needed — the venue provides its own visual richness. Event rentals support the foundation’s preservation mission, adding a community-minded dimension to the occasion. Located on North Boulevard in the historic district, the mansion is a short walk from the State Capitol and downtown Baton Rouge.
